ITANAGAR, Nov 26: All East Kameng Student Union (AEKSU), in a letter, has drawn the attention of the East Kameng Deputy Commissioner towards alleged encroachment of Seppa District Hospital land by some individuals and demanded the DC/authorities concerned to serve notice to the encroachers to immediately vacate the encroached land within a week failing which the union threatened to launch democratic movement.
Further, alleging rampant encroachment of Seppa Govt. Hr. Sec. School land, AEKSU, in a separate letter, demanded the DC to serve notice to the encroachers and vacate the land within a month.
In another letter to Inspector General of Police, CRPF, Jorhat, Assam, the AEKSU has urged him to take stern action against those CRPF jawans, who resorted to firing and lathi charge on innocent protesting public at Seppa.
RCH camp held at Tarasso
ITANAGAR, Nov 26: A day-
District Medical Officer, Papum Pare, Dr S Ronya, DRCHO, Dr. Kipa Tuglik and four other doctors alongwith other health staff conducted the camp. The camp was enthusiastically participated by the panchayat leaders and huge number of villagers.

doubled the allocation to Arunachal Pradesh under various windows as compared to

Tuki, Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs Ninong Ering, Agriculture & Horticulture
Minister Setong Sena, Fisheries Minister Rajesh Tacho, Education Minister and local
legislator Bosiram Siram, Pawar disclosed that he had promptly extended the National
Food Security Mission (NFSM)-
"In fact, the credit of having NFSM in NE states goes to your chief minister who rightly pointed out the need to have food security within the region," he said.
The Union Minister informed that this year his ministry has allocated more than Rs 15 crore for National Food Security Mission (NSFM), Rs 32 crore for Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) and Rs 48 crore for Horticulture Mission for Arunachal Pradesh.
"I am extremely liberal while supporting this state and have told my officers that if the state is ready to absorb more funds, we should readily provide the same," he said.
Pawar also offered assistance from the Ministry of Food Processing Industries in building cold chains, modern slaughter houses and many processing units.
In fact, last week only, the ministry had sanctioned a grant of Rs 9 crore for establishment of a modern slaughter house at Itanagar besides approval for a Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Anjaw and in two more districts, he informed.
He further assured support in development of fisheries sector including establishment of neat and clean fish markets, poultry sector and Mithun rearing.
The College of Agriculture, which materialised in record time, in fact has already started its academic session from this year with 20 students.
With the first batch of B.Sc Agri already in place, Pawar said this must be the first case in the country where a college has been sanctioned and operationalized in such short span of time.
Expressing gratitude to the Union Minister on behalf of the people, Tuki, in his speech sought further cooperation from the Union Ministry and requested establishment of a veterinary college and a fishery college in the state. He also sought enhancement in intake capacity of students in the College of Agriculture to 30 with 50% reservation for Arunachalee students. The meeting was also addressed by Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs Ninong Ering, Agriculture Minister Setong Sena, ICAR Director General Dr S Ayappan and Central Agriculture University, Imphal, Vice Chancellor Prof S N Puri.

‘Defection of NCP MLAs in Arunachal a setback’
ITANAGAR, Nov 26: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar today termed the recent defection of four party legislators to Congress in Arunachal Pradesh as a ‘major setback’ for the party in the state.
"It is a sad experience for us". People elected them but they (the MLAs) instead of sticking with the party and working for the people, shifted their loyalty which, is "very unfortunate", the Union Minister for Agriculture and Food Processing Industries said at a party meeting here this evening.
Exhorting the party workers to adopt a different approach with regard to the functioning of the party, the Union Minister asked them to put more focus on women and youth force.
"If equal opportunity is given to women and youths to participate in election, I am confident that NCP will further be strengthened in the state," he said with conviction and advised the party's state leadership to select ‘good’ candidates duly supported by the workers for the Parliamentary and Assembly elections due next year.

Thousands march in rally to demand justice for late Bomjen

ITANAGR, Nov 26: Thousands of people took to the road on Tuesday and sent clear message to the state government and the police that it would no more tolerate violence.
A protest rally was organized by the family members and relatives of late Bomjen
seeking justice for him. Bomjen had succumbed to his injuries inflicted upon him
by a group of youths at Legi Complex here on the intervening night of May 26-
The rally which started from Akashdeep shopping complex and culminated at Legi Complex here via police station saw participation of people from all walks of life, including school students and student organizations apart from the family’s members and relatives of the deceased. Slogans like ‘arrest all the culprits involved in the murder’, ‘justice for Bomjen Gapak’ and ‘hang the culprits’ echoed in the air.
While the procession was passing through the police station, a group of angry youths damaged the car of the arrested accused, Ramesh Taku. Addressing the gathering at Legi Complex, father of the deceased Tabom Gapak while thanking everyone for supporting the movement said, “I have lost my son. Let us not lose anymore, let us make this movement a strong one to ensure that such things do not repeat.”
The grieving father called on all the advocates to not take up the case of any of the culprits involved and for awarding exemplary punishment to them.
“No bail should be granted to the accused, as such thing act as encourage for the criminals,” he urged.
All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) President Sikka Gapak giving details of the incident night urged upon the young participant to come forward and support the movement to ensure peace in the state.
“Nobody deserved to die like that,” he said.
According to the Capital police, five of the other culprits are still absconding.
By evening, there were reports of surrender of the three people involved in the murder, however the attempt to confirm the report from the Capital SP remained futile as he refused to provide any detail citing ‘busy schedule’ for the President’s proposed visit to the Capital.
Meanwhile, ANYA Upper Subansiri unit has appealed Capital Police to speed up the investigation process for immediate arrest of all the accused involved in the murder and to award them exemplary punishment as per the law.

“If necessary they should seek the intervention of the Governor to have an effective and pragmatic state policy on disability,” Kamin said. The PPA will frame a holistic policy for the differently abled persons on priority, if the party is voted to power, Kamin assured.
“The state need a policy that will make it mandatory for every legislator, PRI leaders and city councillors to earmark a minimum of fund out of the total funds corresponding to their share of population for welfare of the handicapped persons for the physically challenged persons,” Kamin said. The policy should also ensure 4 percent of the total plan size to be reflected in the State AOP for the welfare of the disabled persons and a fixed monthly honorarium to every head of the household.

Organized by the officials of the Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs, consumer related items, like package commodities, weights and measures, LPG cylinder, posters, banners were displayed and booklets and pamphlets distributed to the people for promoting consumer awareness.
Attending the programme, DC Gejum Ete, while delivering the message of Consumer Rights as per the Consumer Protection Act 1986 appealed to the Nodal Department to put effort to protect consumer’s right. He further suggested everyone to acquire more knowledge about the rights and duties of consumer to avail natural justice through the provisions.
ZPC Sangha Tagik appealed all consumers to cooperate with the Department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Affairs. He appreciated the department for conducting such Consumer awareness campaign in the district.
Consumer Protection Officer cum Assistant Controller, Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs, Hage Tabin explained about the consumer rights under the provision of the Consumer Protection Act 1985.
He briefed the report of consumer cases decided under the President of District Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum, Ziro. He appealed every citizen to support and cooperate to foster the consumer protection movement and to protect and promote the interest of common consumers.

Insult to a martyr
Dear Editor,
Recently the SARHAD KO SWARANJALI programme was held at Indira Gandhi Park, whereby the martyrs of 1962 war were honored. While reading the report of programme in news paper where the names of the martyr have been mentioned I was looking for the name of our brave brother late Nyelam Tebi but alas his name was missing from the list of martyr of 1962 war.
Late Nyelam Tebi from Jara village now known as Deed village near Kurung Kumey border under Lower Subansiri District went to Kimin in 1957. In those days Kimin was the head quarter of 5th Assam Riffle and he was accompanied by his father late Nyelam That. When the father and son reached at Assam Riffle head quarter and expressed the interest of joining Assam Riffle, instantly they gave a gun to late Nyelam Tebi and took a formal test. As Tebi was expert in our local arrow shooting he was selected instantly for training because of the need for man power as 1962 war was looming large. His father late Nyelam Tath went back to village, since then father had no communication with his son. In this way in 1957 late Nyelam Tebi joined 5th Assam Riffle and he has been enrolled as Tebi Dafla because in those days' people of Subansiri belt specially the Nyishi Tribe were known as Dafla and people from Siang belt were known as Abor. When 1962 war began, there were very few soldiers from our Arunachal Pradesh who took part in it including late Nyelam Tebi. Most of the soldier from Arunachal Pradesh came out safely but many have been killed in the war by Chinese Army, which include late Nyelam Tebi. But the father had no idea about fate of his son. Then one day official from Ziro district headquarter had called late Nyelam Tath to receive the compensation from the authority and they told him that his son Nyelam Tebi has been killed in the war. Since then his father used to get some amount as compensation for some time but his father also died in an accident. Since then the compensation amount has been discontinued.
But his supreme sacrifice has not been recognized by the organizer of the SARHAD KO SWARANJALI programme whereas as his name has been already engraved in the war memorial of 1962 at Tawang as Tebi Dafla, and the matter was highlighted in the news paper last year along with the photo copy of war memorial. And even the statement of our MP Takam Sanjoy had appeared in the local dailies urging for recognition of his sacrifice. But today we can only beg pardon from soul of our brave brother Late Nyelam Tebi that "sorry brother your supreme sacrifice has not been recognize by neither Govt. of our State for whom you laid your life to save its people and land nor the 5th Assam Riffle that engraved your name only as Tebi Dafla but not as Nyelam/NeelamTebi". The younger brother of late Tebi, Mr. Neelam Kecha still cannot forget the moment when his beloved brother left him alone and went to join the army. He still remembers that, at the time of departing late Tebi gave him a piece of arrow as he was crying. I would like to make an appeal to the Govt, of Arunachal Pradesh to carry out thorough study of all those soldiers from our state who had participate in the 1962 war and get them recognize. As per as I know there were very few soldiers from our state and some are still alive and looking for their recognition. Such kind of recognition will ensure more patriotic feeling among the local youth towards our mother land.

When will BRTF repair Likabali-
Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed daily I would like to bring to the notice of the concerned official of the Border Road Task Force (BRTF), the grievances faced by the people of the West Siang and other travelers/visitors, due to the badly maintained BRTF road connecting Likabali to Aalo. It has been repeatedly pleaded by various organizations and individuals regarding the maintenance of the said road as it happen to be the life line of the district. But till now there is not enough effort made by the concerned department and the road as a result is in pathetic condition.
The West Siang District for information is situated amidst the lofty hills of Himalayan Mountains and the road here is all about curves/turns and slopes. These natural calamities are already posing enough challenges to the people here and the poorly maintained road is an addition to that. First of all the road, we can say, is a one way highway. Being a very busy road the crossing vehicles do have a very tough time here. Secondly the same narrow road is full of holes and other related damages which are being left unattended for years. This has shortened the life of the vehicles and increased the cost and distance of travelling. The journey to Aalo has indeed become a horrible tale for everyone who has experienced it.
Also the district borders with China in north and for defense point of view it is a sensitive area. If suppose, any complicacy breaks out at the border with the neighboring nation, can our force be moved effectively in such kind of road? With that holes and damages the movement can be compared with the pace of a snail.
If I am not wrong, the BRTF is very much aware of the problems that we are facing due to the ill maintained road. Also they have been apprised of the said problems on several occasions. But it is very unfortunate to learn that they are reluctant to deliver their service to the needy people of our district in a proper way. We are not asking you to perform beyond your capacity we just want the holes to be filled up. We want the road to be maintained in timely basis and make it motorable. Still with hopes and expectation I would like to appeal the concerned department to act responsibly for the welfare of the people of the mentioned area and for the security of the nation as well.

Firstly, I am humbly grateful to my friend Karmi Taso for his / her response towards my upheaval issue of CMs Talent Award though his words sounds to have a negative notions. I am truly sorry to rectify my friend that you did not get my view point and purpose of raising this issue… Claiming over just to get the award was not my prior objective. My parents can also afford a laptop for me but my purpose is beyond this.
I have raised my voice on behalf of many such students and the coming generation
against the injustice and improper implementation of the Govt. policies. I have grabbed
my pen after a thorough study and physically and mentally attending such programs
like VIKAS RALLY. As per your addition, the initiative was meant for only Govt. institution
